"Flix & Pix" - takes place during the last week of May each year.

"Flix & Pix" is Hawkhurst's Film and Photographic Festival, which first took place in 2009.

The films are all shown at Kino, Hawkhurst's digital cinema, and provide a unique opportunjity to enjoy some of the nation's art-house and best-loved films at attractive prices.

The entries for the photographic competition from Hawkhurst area residents are shown at a special exhibition at for the duration of the Festival.

Area schools are invited to participate in both aspects of the Festival. There is a Schools photographic competition, and day-time screenings of a film selected by and for the area's junior schools. Ideally accompanied by the book to be read in class, schools screenings have included "Holes", "The Whale Rider", "A Bridge to Terabithia" and "Dolphin Tale".

Favourite classics such as "Gone with the Wind", "Rebecca" and "The King's Speech" have been enjoyed by Senior Citizens at special afternoon screenings.

Plans are currently underway for the 2017 "Flix and Pix.
